Introduction
The Bently Nevada 3500/22-01-00 is a Transient Data Interface (TDI) Module designed for the 3500 Series Machinery Protection System. It replaces the earlier Rack Interface Module (RIM) and adds high‑speed transient data capture capabilities. The module mounts in Slot 1 of a 3500 rack (next to the power supplies) and serves as the communication gateway between the monitor rack and host software such as System 1™ Condition Monitoring and 3500 configuration software.
Unlike the RIM, the TDI continuously collects both steady‑state and dynamic (waveform) data from M‑Series monitors (e.g., 3500/40M, 3500/42M). It captures high‑resolution transient data during machine start‑ups, coast‑downs, load changes, and other transient events – critical for advanced diagnostics and predictive maintenance. The TDI is not part of the critical monitoring path; its failure or removal does not affect the protection functions of the monitors in the rack.
